~~~TIME WELL SPENT~~~

This journey and learning experience has truly been..Time Well Spent!! I have learned and grown in so many ways, its unbelievable

One of the most important concepts that I have learned during this experience is the importance of advocacy.  As a professional in this field I witness the many injustices and inequities young children and  families must endure on a daily basis.   With the knowledge gained from this program I now have the wisdom and courage to take a stand for change.  In order to see results, one must first take action. 

I believe one of the most important things that I have learned during the the course of this program is the many roles and responsibilities of a early childhood program administrator.  I had the opportunity to identify positive leadership qualities and develop the leadership style I hope to possess.  During EDUC 6167 I learned the many aspects and techniques of effective budgeting, which is vital to the success of any program.  In EDUC 6168 I had the opportunity to start-up a virtual childcare center, which provided insight into the complexity of starting and operating a childcare program. 

During this program I have also learned the importance of collaborating and learning from others.  Before this capstone experience I have always been that type of person to struggle alone, rather than seek help or assistance.   Working on this capstone project I was able to see the bigger picture.  At the end of the day, my ego has to be sat aside to produce greater results for young children and families.  With that being said I have no problem reaching out and working with individuals just as passionate and dedicated to social justice and change for young children and families around the world.  

At this time I would like to thank all my professors and colleagues for sharing your KNOWLEDGE, ADVICE, ENCOURAGEMENT, WISDOM, and PERSPECTIVES.  With your help and support this learning experience has been remarkable.  I wish you all the best and I hope you achieve your goals and dreams for the future!!!!
